Dr Isomiddin Salohiddin

Dr Isomiddin Salohiddin was born in the small city of Panjroud (birth place of Rudaki), in the vicinity of the historic city of Panjkent.  He got his first academic degree at the Government’s Teacher’s Training University of Dushanbe and latter on obtained his PhD on Philosophy and Cultural Studies from the University of Moscow.  Back in Dushanbe, Dr Isomiddin joined the Institute of Philosophical Research and acted as the leader of political party.

From 1995-2000 he served as people’s representative at the Supreme Tajik Assembly. During this period, from 1996-1998, he also acted as the mayor of the city of Panjkent. In 1998 he was appointed as chief advisor to the office of the President of Tajikistan and in July 2008 he was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the International Forum of Persian Speaking People (Payvand). Dr Isomiddin is a prolific writer; his most recent article entitled “Culture of Political Administration in the Poems of Rudaki” was published in the Journal of Payvand Society, XV, 2008.
