The Ambassador, Dr Erkin Kasymov was born in the historic city of Khojand, better known as the financial capital of the Republic Tajikistan. Being a philologist by profession, Erkin is well versed in Russian, Arabic, English, and Persian languages. Erkin began his career in politics in 1974 as the First Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affair&#8217;s. Over 30 year of engagement in politics and the social affairs of his native country, Dr Kasymov is well placed to represent Tajikistan in the United Kingdom. Her poetry in Persian language has been well received by Persian speaking people world wide and particularly in the Persian speaking countries. Mr Fatahov, chief advisor to the office of President, conveyed the outcome of the consultative meetings and pointed out that Mr Isomiddin Salohiddin, after protracted studies, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Payvand Society. He pointed out government’s satisfaction with good services of late Prof. Manyazov and conveyed president’s message for the expansion of Payvand activities in the years ahead. Main venues for Independence Day pageantry were the historical city of Panjkent and the mausoleum of Rudaki in Panjrood. The international conference dedicated to the works and achievements of Rudaki was held in Dushanbe.  Main venues were the Academy of Science and the Institute of Oriental Studies.
