The Year of Rudaki and Persian Language: Dushanbe 5-11 September 2008.
The opening session of Rudaki’s International Conference was chaired by His Excellency Emamali Rahman President of the Republic of Tajikistan and Chair of the Forum of Persian Speaking People of the World (Payvand). In his speech President Rahman praised the role of Rudaki in the development of Persian language, poetry and what is known as Persian / Tajik Culture and civilisation. Prof. Ilalov, director of the Academy of Science welcomed the audience and declared the conference open. Other speakers in this session were: Prof. Osmanov (Russia), Prof. Dinashayov (Tajikistan), Prof. Sayed Akhtar Husain (India), Dr. Abbas Vafaei (Iran), Prof. Bahora Khoramzod (Uzbekistan).
